GeriatricĪppropriate studies performed to date have not demonstrated geriatric-specific problems that would limit the usefulness of silver sulfadiazine topical in the elderly. Use of silver sulfadiazine topical is not recommended in premature or newborn babies 2 months of age and younger. Safety and efficacy have not been established. Appropriate studies have not been performed on the relationship of age to the effects of silver sulfadiazine topical in the pediatric population.
